the tricky part about carnivals is… they can pack up and leave at a moments notice…
but being at the kemah boardwalk on a random tuesday guarantees having the place to yourselves…
audrey has a kick-ass bouquet, by the way… and her garter has a built-in flask…

just hanging out with mel+mike at the orange show in houston…
a postman transformed an east end lot into an architectural maze of walkways, balconies, arenas and exhibits decorated with mosaics and brightly painted iron figures…
we heard an ice cream truck –> snacks during a shoot… awesome

we discovered that we would be shooting during the middle of a marathon in downtown san antonio… after shooting in the st.anthony hotel, we wandered by the riverwalk and found the only street that wasnt blocked off and littered with empty paper cups and banana peels…

it’s saturday night in san antonio… blocks from the riverwalk at the santa anna ballroom hosts the wedding of becky + barrett… party people are everywhere, clumped in packs, laughing, dancing, hugging and screaming at each other in recognition… it doesnt get more summery with skeet shooting, bbq in lockhart and bottomless barrels of big red keeping the dance floor hydrated…

the blueberry, cherry and coconut jelly bellys marked the entrance to the exclusive vibe waiting inside the richly decorated terrace lounge…
earlier that evening, a smartly dresed crowd witnessed bethany and kelly exchange vows in an ornate french romanesque church…
into the night, the cocktail sipping masses start to crowd the sprawling wood floor, flags waving to the tempo of the beat of the band…

jill + kemper wanted a wedding far from houston and victoria, but still in texas… solution: kairos celebration barn in fredericksburg, tx
fburg is becoming our second home – we’ve been shooting there a lot, and it’s cool every single time…
kairos is awesome… it is it’s own little haven, away from the touristy bustle… joe and sharon, the owners, really know how to party in a barn [and by barn, i mean limestone rock mansion]
on friday, the skies opened up and everything flooded – every bride’s nightmare for an outdoor ceremony…
on saturday, totally bluebird… perfect…
a couple of years ago, i had no idea what the “grand march” was… today i experienced “the alligator”… or, um… “the gator”…
this is how you do it: stomp your feet, stomp your hands, roll on the ground, repeat…
last shot is a remote camera and a remote flash… it was set up by crystal – it’s her first stab at trying something new since she came back from the JVS lighting workshop…
of course it turned out amazing… hear the bell..? i just got skooled…
